Bedroom Reveal

Posted on

Hi, hope you are having a great Wednesday.  It’s suppose to be warm here today, close to 60 degrees.  Crazy for Upstate New York in January. Today I wanted to show you how the bedroom came together. I have spent the last couple of days at the sewing machine.  I think my neck has finally forgiven me.  I made four window panels from fabric that I ordered from Tonic Living.

I do not claim to really know how to sew.  I  improvised  as I went.  I also made the pillow shams on the bed from left over fabric from recovering the bench at the end of the bed.  (You can see the before here)  I used drop cloth fabric that I purchased at Home Depot.

Overall I like how the room came out.  I was looking for a calm, neutral color palette.  The only thing I might change is the pillow on the bed.  After I chose the fabric and sewed the pillow cover I remembered some fabric I had seen a while back that I loved.  I found a pillow cover on Etsy out of the “loved” fabric.  This would bring the blue of the dresser over to the other side of the room, which I believe is lacking. I will have to ponder that for a day or two.  If you have questions let me know.  I did not do a tutorial on any of the projects because I was winging it as I went but if I can help, just ask.  Also as a side note.  I was pleased that I did not spend any money on this room.  I used the proceeds from selling “stuff” on Craig’s list.  Guilt free decorating, love it. :)  Have a great day!

  1. Really nice job on the drapes, Kelly! I agree, a pop of the turquoise on a pillow would be nice.

  2. Bedroom looks great – love what you did with the dresser! Think you are right about a blue-ish pillow to tie everything together :)
